Tours

If you wish to bring a group for a tour, please contact the Visitors' Officer on 01284 748726. Regular tours Monday to Saturday at 11.30am from Easter Monday to August. Cost of Guided Tours £3.50 per person. No coach parking at Cathedral but coach set off point on Angel Hill. Free coach parking at Rougham Hill.

Groups

Group tours by arrangement at any time, please contact the Visitors' Officer on 01284 748726. The minimum number is 10 and the maximum 80. A range of special packages are available:

School Visits

The Discovery Centre, the Diocesan and Cathedral Centre for children and all those who work with them, is available for children and young people. A range of themed tours and activities can be arranged via the Children's Education Officer, Helen Woodroffe by telephoning 01284 747467. Activities can be linked to the National Curriculum and include topics such as 'The Edmund Story', 'The Christian Journey' and 'History in the Making'. Worship

There are regular services daily. In addition, many special services to celebrate county and national events take place. Visitors are welcome to join any of the services. Please contact the Cathedral Office for further details (tel: 01284 754933).

Amenities

Shop - The shop offers a wide range of books, gifts, CDs and greetings cards. Open Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.

Refectory - The modern licensed Refectory offers morning coffee/afternoon tea and a range of hot and cold lunches. The Refectory can also cater for groups and special functions. Open Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 4.30pm (3.30pm October to March). Please contact the Refectory on 01284 748738.

Toilets in the Cathedral Centre - including one equipped for disabled visitors.

Baby changing facilities are available.

Facilities for disabled

Wheelchair users can make a full tour of the Cathedral (temporary ramp available in porch and Chancel), except the Treasury. Cathedral Centre fully accessible. Wheelchair available to borrow. Toilet for disabled visitors.

How to find us

Take the Bury St Edmunds (Central) exit from the A14. Follow signs to Historic Town Centre. Turn left at roundabout and right at traffic lights onto Angel Hill.

Bury St Edmunds also has a train station, served by Anglia Railways.

No coach parking at Cathedral but coach set off point on Angel Hill. Free Coach parking at Rougham Hill .
