School Visits

We use Norwich Cathedral to help the 15,000 school children who visit us each year understand the building in a number of ways. The Education Department runs activities and tours that have been designed to complement Key Stages, which use the Cathedral to approach various religious and historical topics all year round. These include the Monk's Trail, the Civil War Trail and much more. For full details or to organise a visit, please see the teacher pages on our website or contact the Education Officer directly.

Level access and Disabled Access lifts: There is a disabled access lift at the West Door of the cathedral, where visitors can also find disabled access plans for orientation and information.

The South Door has level access.

The Dark Entry provides level access for the Cloisters, leading to the Disabled Access lift to gain access to the Refectory restaurant, Cathedral Library and Toilets.

Our Cathedral Guides are happy to take visitors around the cathedral who are blind, partially sighted. Deaf and hard of hearing visitors and groups are also very welcome but we regret that currently none of our Cathedral Guides can practice deaf-sign language, so an interpreter may be necessary.
