Summer ( June, July August): Mon-Sat 7.15am-8pm (Sundays 6pm)
Rest of the year: Mon-Sat 7.15am-6pm (Sundays 5pm)

Tours

Guided tours are included in the admission price. Individual visitors do not need to book in advance for floor tours but it is advisable for roof and tower tours. Tour times may change if a special service is taking place.

Floor tours Tours last about 1 hour and give and insight into the history, art and architecture of the building. They are suitable for people in wheelchairs.

Roof tours Each tour lasts about 90 minutes and visits the vast roof spaces and goes out onto thte West Front with views over Lincoln to the Trent. Groups are limited to 14 with a minimum age of 14. People must be physically fit to cope with the narrow winding stairs.

Tower tours Each tour lasts about 1 hour and climbs the 338 steps to the top of the Central Tower to view Lincolnshire from its highest point The same restrictions apply as for roof tours.

School Visits

These should be booked through the Communications Office on 01522 561600 or e-mail visitors@lincolncathedral.com. Visits can be tailored to the teacher's requirements and the National Curriculum.

The Cloister Refectory is located off the cloister and is open at the following times

In the summer there are picnic tables on Tennyson Green and tables in the cloister. Catering services available on request for special events and groups.

Toilets including disabled facilities are located off the cloister.

We have an Information Desk, open from 11-3 pm every weekday, manned by volunteers who can answer specific queries about any aspect of the Cathedral.

The Lincoln Cathedral Centre

The centre provides excellent and high quality facilities for meetings, conferences, study days and events. It is based in a recently re-furbished 13th century building immediately opposite the West Front. Rooms overlook the Cathedral. Library

The Library is open to the public during the summer months from 1.pm to 3.00 pm with exhibitions of some of its collection. It holds many events and talks, Tours can also be arranged by appointment. Please contact the Librarian on 01522 561640.

Facilities for disabled

The Lincoln Cathedral Centre is fully accessible with a lift to the first floor and toilets and has some space for disabled parking.

There is a disabled toilet in the Cathedral. Wheel chairs are available from the entry desk, and ramps are provided to give access to most of the Cathedral at ground level. Access is not possible to the Roof and Tower.

A touch model of the Cathedral is available by the entry desk and a touch exhibition sited in the N.E transept.

There is a hearing loop for services in the nave and choir.

Parking

Parking around the Cathedral is limited to short stay on the south side in Minster Yard or local car parks. There is no parking reserved for disabled visitors immediately adjacent to the Cathedral, although it is possible to drop off just outside the main entrance. There is a coach drop off and collection point in Northgate ( at the side of the Lincoln Hotel) and coach parking in the Stagecoach garage.
