Daily, except Sunday 12.30 - 2.00pm
There are no regular daily tours but visits by community groups or parishes which can be booked in advance are most welcome. In addition to showing all the lovely features of the Cathedral we try to meet any special interests of each group. There is a charge of £3.00 per adult.
Visits must be booked in advance. To discuss possible dates and times please contact the Education Officer
These can be arranged throughout the year. The education team offer a variety of trails and activities which are linked to the requirements of the National Curriculum especially the R.E syllabus though many of these are cross curricular. We try to respond to the specific needs of each school and to offer valuable experience to pupils and staff. Children with special needs are welcome. It is often possible to arrange a demonstration of the organ and a short act of worship is normally included in the visit.
The Learning Centre fully equipped for up to 30 children provides an attractive environment for practical activities which enables the education team to offer a much broader and attractive programme linked to the topic carried out in the Cathedral.
Advance booking is essential (preferably at least three weeks in advance) since the cathedral is a very busy place. Even if a guide is not required, it is advisable to make a booking. To discuss possible dates, times and activities that you would like for the pupils contact the Education Officer e-mail: bobby.harrington@virgin.net
A visit to the Cathedral costs £1.00 per child, workshops cost £1.50 per child. Teachers and helpers are not charged
